What a Weekend!

Have we told you there's pretty much never a dull moment at the Schofield Household?  Well, this weekend was no exception.  We started it off with a bang with Jordan coming home for a little R&R for spring break - YEAH!!!  Our house always gets a little more lively when everyone is home.  (We miss you Lance!!!  He's definitely the family ham and always adds to the party!)
~Jordan at the rugby game~

Hunter had a fantastic rugby game on Friday.  He got in a few good drop kicks, some really good tackles, and got taken down a couple times himself.  They lost by 2 points but put up a really good fight.  I'm still not convinced it's a gentleman's game, but it is pretty exciting to watch.  Now we just need to get the rules down because half the time we have no idea what is going on!

~DC Rugby vs. Union~

Nicki had a great time at "Morp".  What a fun group of kids!  They all came over here to take pictures in between dinner and the dance.  We had to pry some of the guys away from Den's bike, but they had a pretty good time and the pictures are fabulo-so!

And the weekend ended with Mom and Jordan staying up to watch - and I can't believe I'm saying this - "New Moon"!  Then when the movie was over we flipped a channel and Titanic was on.  LOL...yep.....we got sucked right into that movie as well.  What a couple of gushy hopeless romantics!!!  I think we hit the pillows around 2 a.m.  WAY passed this little mama's bedtime!  Thank heavens for diet Pepsi????  I'm gonna need it!

Its that Morp time of year!

Morp time!  For those of you who may not know, it isn't JUST March Madness around here; it's also time for Morp.  Morp, of course, is prom spelled backwards.  It's a girl's choice dance.

This year Nicki asked (ooops  I didn't get her permission to say who) a cute kid down the street.  For those of you who don't live in Utah, it's some odd little tradition that you find an original/off-the-wall kind of way to ask someone to the dance.  Nicki made a fairly large and really cute puzzle (I can't believe I didn't get a picture of it!!!) that was decorated with easter eggs and a bunny that said, "This chick thinks morp wouldn't be fun with no "bunny" but you.  She left the puzzle pieces on his doorstep with this cute little wind up chick that bounced around.  Later that night she wrote each letter of her name with a white crayon on plain white boiled Easter eggs.  She put them in a basket with an egg dying kit and left those on his doorstep as well.  He had to color the eggs in order to find out who asked him to the dance.  That was a few weeks ago.  Last night on the doorstep was this reply.
OH----and the eggs were filled with candy.  She had to go through them all to find a tiny tiny little note that said, "Yes!!!  It would be most "egg"-cellent to go with you!"
It really is fun to have teenagers around!

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside!

Let the Spring games begin!  This week kicks off the official seasons of rugby and track in the Schofield house.  That means Nicki throws things and Hunter smashes things for the next 6 weeks or so!  Nicki has set a goal to make it to state for javelin this year and already has a terrific shot at it.  Her first meet is Wednesday.  Hunter made it on as a starter on the sophomore team and a sub on the varsity team.  His first game is Wednesday as well.  Told you - a busy, busy, busy schedule!

We don't mind that, we just hope and pray they both stay healthy with minimal bruises and NO broken bones.  And with the beginning of March Madness this week you'll be certain to find this family on the couch glued to the T.V.  Thursday morning - BYU - Go Jimmer Fredette!!!!  (We're not necessarily huge BYU fans - we just like to say Jimmer Fredette.  You just can't say that name without sounding like you're from Spanish Fork.  Oh sorry - I mean Kentucky?)  :)

Next on the list - Tanner has baseball tryouts on the 27th.  Stay tuned!

Weekend Warriors!

Nicki decided her room was looking a little tired and she wanted to liven it up a bit, so she talked her friend Kenzee into playing "Weekend Warriror" with her and this was their result!  Mom was happy to shop for the decor (all on clearance...SCORE!) as long as Nicki did the painting (I only had to touch up a little here and there).  A quick little show and tell lesson on the proper way to use a brush and a roller and they were off.  They started around 10:30 in the morning and finished shortly after 11:00 p.m. (with a small break while Nicki had to go to work for a few hours and a little Chinese takeout for dinner).  Mom helped a little by adding her creative headboard.  Believe it or not she literally dreamt it up!  There was lots of laughs and they had a great time. (Mom and Dad even joined in the fun now and then).  We think they did a fantastic job!  And Kenzee, the table you painted looks awesome!!!
Next weekend.....Kenzee's room!!!  Stay tuned!!!!

Happy 1 Year Mark Elder Ririe!

This week is the one year mark since Elder Ririe has been gone.  He's serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Washington Spokane Mission.  He's working hard and having the time of his life.  He told us at Christmas, "It really is the best two years!".  In a way I can't believe it's already been a year, yet there's some days it feels like 10 years!  As a Mom, it helps to know he's surrounded by people that truly love him and care about him.  We can't wait to go back to Spokane when his mission comes to an end and meet all these fantastic people he tells us about every week.

Congrats Bud!  Here's to one more awesome year!
We love you!!!!
